Mindful Month Events - Sept 2026

When

Tuesday 1st & repeated Sunday 27th September

Indoor if bad weather

What

Roof Garden Self Help Read & Share - Focus, Social & Educational event with Mindful Breathing

10:45-1:45pm

Bring your own drink/snack/lunch plus paper n pen for notes, and settle in to read the self help book of your choice for 90 minutes, then share key learnings with the group. Takes place in roof garden/conservatory up a flight of metal stairs. We will slow our busy minds down with mindful breathing at the start. Audio books via headphones are fine too. You can choose one from our second hand books for sale to borrow for the session or bring one you have been meaning to read.

Qigong (Ancient Moving Meditation) & Cascades Walk n Loftus Woods

2-3pm

We will meet at the bookshop to enjoy a walk in beautiful Loftus Woods being soothed by the sounds of the cascades stopping for some qigong which is similar to tai chi. If is rainy we will do a shorter session indoors with a chakra balancing meditation. Suitable for all levels as long as can squat and bend over.

These are part of the North York Moors National Park's Mindful Month - see full list of activities across the area in September 2026.
