If you have a yen to run a bookshop near the sea, we’re your place. Don't panic as no till to master. With prior agreement you could also sell your own goods on the popup table, launch your book, sign your book, offer a talk or just enjoy the thrill of bookshop ownership - that is making no money but making many beautiful connections with people. We're also easily accessible by public transport!

 

I (Marta) am a frustrated writer, diagnosed with ADHD in her 50s, who has been asked for a decade by friends when they will be able to watch the brilliant Netflix series they are waiting for me to write. I had this idea that if I stayed in the house of a writer on airbnb that would help as writing groups have really helped my productivity.

 

That is how a google search had me stumble on to my inspiration 'The Open Book bookshop holiday in Wigtown'. They have a waiting list and I love creating experiences for people so that is how we got here. Pretty hard to get to do the one in Paris too. I also love buying books. I love a home filled with books and art. I love helping others have a home filled with books and art!

Minimum stay is 3 nights and bigger the discount for longer the stay starting with 4 days. Of course you should stay as long as you possibly can because there is so much to see! Pay extra for each person staying because we wanted it to be affordable for the solo traveller with the dream of playing shop. We have larger accommodation with 2 bedrooms (4 beds) sleeping up to 4 and with a garden space, than Wigtown’s Open Book bookshop holiday in Scotland and more plush. You will feel it is a very loved comfortable home.

 

We can accommodate up to 4 across 2 bedrooms. 1 bedroom has a double bed (4ft 6) and the middle floor bedroom has a king size bed (5ft) with 2 singles. Not suitable for pets, families with unruly/younger children, people with mobility issues, smokers or those needing amazing wifi.
