You could also sell your own goods on the popup table, launch your book, host an event or just enjoy the thrill of bookshop ownership - that is making no money but making many beautiful connections with people. We're also easily accessible by public transport!
I (Marta) am a frustrated writer, diagnosed with ADHD in her 50s, who has been asked for a decade by friends when they will be able to watch the brilliant Netflix series they are waiting for me to write. I had this idea that if I stayed in the house of a writer on airbnb that would help as writing groups have really helped my productivity. That is how a google search had me stumble on to my inspiration 'The Open Book bookshop holiday in Wigtown'. They have a waiting list and I love creating experiences for people so that is how we got here. I also love buying books. I love a home filled with books and art.

Minimum stay is 2 nights and bigger the discount for longer the stay. Of course you should stay as long as you possibly can because there is so much to see! Pay extra for each person staying because we wanted it to be affordable for the solo traveller with the dream of playing shop. Although we have larger accommodation with 2 bedrooms sleeping up to 6 and with a garden space, the price is lower than Wigtown’s Open Book bookshop holiday in Scotland as we are just starting out. They have increased the nightly rate over the years as costs increased. We can accommodate up to 6 across 2 bedrooms but as 4 would be in 1 room you'd have to be very fond of each other or close knit bookclub buddies. Available year round.
Price from one person is £85 per night, £100 Fri/Sat night and £15 for each extra person..
